Delicious Raw Lean Reset Review

IMG_5235.JPG

If you know me personally, you know I LOVE a good detox! Honestly, nothing makes me feel better than cleansing my body inside and out. I recently had the pleasure of testing out the Delicious Raw Lean Reset. I chose to complete the 3 day option, which was a mix of fresh pressed juices, kale slaw and spinach salads. (The Lean Reset also comes in a 2 day option.)

I’ve done several detoxes and cleanses in the past and I am well aware of the easing in and easing out process. If you are unfamiliar with how to begin a detox, what to expect, or how to ease out of a detox, check out my book, Revitalize & Renew: 7 Days to a Healthier You!

I absolutely loved this detox! The juices were amazing, the kale slaw around lunch time was very satisfying, and the spinach salad at night was huge! I wasn’t sure I would be able to finish all the food and juice in one day. The first day was the toughest, mainly due to the lack of caffeine, and the adjustment to mostly liquid nutrients. By the second day I was vibrant, energized and ready for more! By the end of the reset I noticed clearer skin, more energy, and less bloating… my body felt amazing.

I am already looking forward to my next Lean Rest … who’s with me?

Healthy Additions to Your Morning Coffee

Wake up. Shower. Coffee. Lunch. Afternoon lull. Coffee.

We reach for coffee several times throughout our day as a pick me up, but what if there was a healthier alternative to your typical coffee? What if you could get a dose of antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, and boost your metabolism at the same time? Well now you can! Delicious Raw recently launched a new line of coffee drinks that help boost our health and give us the caffeine kick we need!

Adding healthy fats, like coconut oil, to your coffee can help increase your metabolism, boost your energy, improve your digestion, improve brain function, and keep your blood sugar in check.

There are a few ingredients in these coffee drinks that make them stand out from the competition.

The Maca Bullet contains Maca which is an adaptogen, helps improve the adrenal system, and one of the world’s ‘super foods’. Maca root helps to balance the hormones and energy levels in the body. It has been known to increase fertility, increase your stamina, and improve memory and focus as well.

The Maca Bullet also includes bee pollen, which is a great addition to your coffee, or your diet. These tiny crystals help to increase energy and fight off allergens. Go for local bee pollen whenever possible.

The Mocha Chaga Latte includes Chaga as it’s star ingredient. Chaga is a powerful antioxidant and helps to boost our immune system. It has been proven to reduce dangerous inflammation in the body, and puts up a strong fight against cancer and other diseases.

Matcha is the main ingredient in the Matcha Latte, which is loaded with antioxidants. Matcha had been known to increase your metabolism and help you to burn more calories naturally. Matcha will increase your energy and endurance while promoting a sense of calm over your body.

Lucuma may be an unknown ingredient to some but will soon become their favorite. Lucuma is a Peruvian fruit that is used to sweeten drinks and desserts. It has a maple syrup like taste, and is high in beta carotene, iron, zinc and protein. Lucuma has been proven to have an anti-inflammatory, anti-aging and skin repair effect on the body. A great replacement to my typical sweetener!

The Golden Turmeric Latte, the hot drink of the season. Turmeric is a potent anti- inflammatory and antioxidant, helping to fight free radicals in the body. This latte is perfect for anyone looking to avoid caffeine, detox anyone?

Ginger is another star in the Golden Turmeric Latte, and is a powerful anti-inflammatory, that also enhances our digestion, reduces nausea and decreases muscle soreness. Ginger has also been known to prevent cancer, help lower cholesterol and fight against alzheimer’s disease.

Recap: Nutrition and Yoga Event with Delicious Raw

Clean eating and yoga are the staples for a balanced life. This is what we brought to our local Naples, Florida community last week.

Yoga ta Delicious Raw | Lean and Green Body Blog

Lean and Green Body and Delicious Raw co-hosted a free event for our community to promote a healthy lifestyle. We started our event with one hour of gentle vinyasa flow, centering ourselves and detaching from our week. Bonding with our neighbors, and even using them as support during our balance sequence.

Clean Eating

Clean Eating | Lean and Green Body Blog

It’s not all about the macros. Recently everyone seems to be so focused on macronutrients, consuming enough protein in proportion to the amount of fat and carbohydrates. Paleo, macrobiotics, carbohydrate loading, gluten free, vegan... there are so many labels boxing us in to how we eat. Instead of boxing yourself into a label and a specific group - eat foods that fuel your body and nourish your soul. Eat in a way that honors where you are today, and where you would like to be in a week, a month, and in a year from now. What does that look like for you?

Our dietary focus needs to be on eating clean, eating in a way that honors our body and soul. We need to prioritize what’s important when it comes to our food. Understanding where our food comes from, and how it will work and digest in our bodies; these need to be our priorities. Clean eating simply means consuming whole unrefined foods in their natural state, with minimal processing and preservatives. Think potato instead of french fries, apple instead of apple pie... eating ingredients and foods in their natural state. With clean eating, we want to minimize or eliminate the use of preservatives.

How long will it take for that avocado to start rotting on your counter? In general, the faster a food begins to rot on your counter or in your fridge, the easier it will be for your body to break it down and digest it. I suggest consuming foods that are bioavailable, foods that our bodies can recognize, break down, and utilize.

Instead of attaching a label to your diet, eat in a way that honors your body. Every time you eat, think about fueling your body. What would be a better option for you? Which will sustain your energy? How will you feel an hour after eating? These are all things to consider when choosing foods. Eat foods that make you feel good, inside and out. Eat foods that increase your energy, making you feel vibrant and ready to take on the day.

Where do you begin? Start by eliminating all processed foods from your house. You are the gate keeper, it is your job to control what foods come in. Shop the perimeter of the grocery store where the fresh, whole, clean foods are. Begin to choose healthier options for you and your family.

Everyone’s dietary needs are slightly different depending on our current health status and our goals. Consider what your body requires today, and what it will need to help you meet your goals. Eating clean, whole foods, and eliminating processed and refined foods, will ultimately lead to a healthier and more vibrant you!
