Sorry I’ve been so absent! I took a week off from the blog and locked myself in my office to study. I am a firm believer in always growing, always improving, always learning.

I just completed the International Sports Science Association (ISSA) Personal Training Certification! Huge accomplishment! Months of studying and preparation...followed by a certification test that took me 6 hours to complete...but was well worth it when I found out I got an A!

I took my first Personal Training Certification 11 years ago, and have been working as a personal trainer for the past 11 years. With the growth of my business and expansion of the Lean and Green Body team I decided to re-certify for Personal Training with a new, and in my opinion better board of certification. We are requiring all of our Personal Trainers to be certified through either ISSA or NASM; so I decided to re-certify in order to be on the same page as the rest of my trainers. We want the best and most educated staff. To be the best, you have to have the best.

In order to be the best you have to continue learning and growing - personally and professionally.  After graduating from Springfield College I completed an additional 4 years of post graduate work to compile my base of knowledge and degrees. Since then I continue to study, take courses and continuing education credits every year. In the field of health and wellness things are always changing, and new information is always being discovered. You must stay on top of the changes and discoveries to be able to offer the best services and experience to your clients.
